Turkey
Apart from Turkish Thrace, which is situated in Europe, Turkey comprises the peninsula of Asia Minor and is divided into a total of 76 provinces. Around 50% of the working population are employed in agriculture.

Besides tobacco, wheat, and cotton, the arable land also produces tea, although it is of rather marginal significance in our part of the world.

The mountains of Anatolia are home to the sideritis (mountain tea) family, which is spread across the entire Mediterranean region. Needless to say, the highest quality mountain teas are found in Turkey. A vital element in the lives of Mediterranean people, they are also starting to become popular in Germany.
