Anti-cancerogenic
Animal experiments have provided conclusive evidence that tea can protect against the development of cancerous tumours such an unequivocal statement is not possible, as far as humans are concerned. Some experiments in cancer inhibition used pure tea ingredients such as ES (epicatechin),
EPC (epigallocatechin),
and EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate).
With a high degree of probability, tea can be counted amongst the cancer preventing substances, even though the controversial debate continues.
